Affordable Housing communities can often times be anything but affordable to maintain. Over the years, units get damaged, roofs need repairing, site upgrades need to happen, and any number of other repairs will need to be addressed. With over 633 units across 22 housing communities, repair bills and costs can add-up quickly for our agency. It is with sadness that we need to announce the closing of our catering services at Kindred Kitchen on June 30th. Rising costs, industry trends, and federal funding insecurities have made continuing our catering business unsustainable. Following the cafe closure in February, we had hoped that catering could be a viable avenue for retaining our amazing staff. We are thrilled to share that Housing Hope has been selected to be a recipient of this years Housing Innovation Grant from Zillow! Awarded to 10 organizations, this $10,000 grant is designed to support those on the front lines of housing access and equality. This grant comes at a vital time for our agency. With the various funding cuts coming to HUD and other agencies we rely upon, this grant will help provide stability and additional resources to navigate such choppy waters.
