HopeWorks is an affiliate of Housing Hope, and was launched in January 2011 with the goal of helping families gain skills and training for in-demand jobs.

HopeWorks aims to help individuals gain new life skills through in-classroom education, one-on-one guidance, and on the job training. Our three areas of development are for Education, Employment, and Job Training.
Each area of development is specially designed to give participants the real world tools and skills that they will need to reach new heights in the area they are looking to improve. By combining in-classroom sessions with instructors along with real world training opportunities, HopeWorks gives participants the best environment to learn and grow holistically.

EMPLOYMENT
The Employment Department promotes employment growth and advancement by coaching and supporting participants in areas of career exploration, pre-employment readiness, and active job search.

When a participant is referred to the Employment Department, they are matched with an Employment Specialist, who will meet with the participant to explore career interests and various career pathways. The Employment Specialist will assist the participant by offering pre-employment readiness support and resources, active job search, and/or internship and apprenticeship opportunities.

EDUCATION
The Education Department fosters educational growth and achievement by assisting our participants with identifying career pathways that align with their personal interest to obtain future job stability.
​
When a participant is referred to the Education Department, a designated Education Coordinator (EC) will be assigned to them and schedule an initial meeting. During this meeting, the EC and the participant will begin building a relationship while exploring the participant’s interests and potential career pathways. The EC will assist the participant in building an Individual Education Plan (IEP), which will serve as a roadmap to their educational success. Once the IEP has been established, the EC will assist the participant with enrolling into their program of choice, as well as provide additional coaching and support to help the participant be successful.

TRAINING
The Training Academy provides quality training, designed to inspire individual confidence in the workplace, our robust training program allows each participant to grow at their own pace, while providing a safe environment to learn.
The program includes a 4-week classroom course designed to enhance basic life skills and confront complex barriers to employment. Curriculum includes communication skills, work/life boundaries, financial literacy, interviewing skills, conflict resolution, resume development, and goal setting, after classroom is completed, Participants enter an 8-week on the job pathway of their choice. During this 8-week program, participants learn hard skill in the selected pathway.

TRAINING PATHWAYS
HopeWorks provides training pathways that are designed to equip Trainees with a foundational knowledge and skillset for their chosen interests. Each Pathway is accompanied by 4 weeks on in-classroom education where soft skills and job readiness are taught before moving into 8 weeks of instruction on hard skills in a professional work setting.

Currently HopeWorks offers three pathways; Admin & Office, Culinary Kitchen, and Early Childhood Education.


Admin & Office
This Administrative Support training program provides participants with practical, hands-on experience in a professional office environment under the supervision of experienced administrative staff. The program emphasizes professionalism, workplace etiquette, confidentiality, and organizational skills necessary to succeed in administrative support roles across a variety of industries.

Culinary Kitchen
The Culinary Kitchen On-The-Job Training Pathway prepares Trainees for working in the fast paced culinary industry with real training, real support, and real hands-on experience. Trainees will learn a mixture of soft and hard skills that will give them a strong foundational understanding of all aspects of food production and working in a professional kitchen space.

Early Childhood Education (ECE)
The Early Childhood Education (ECE) On-the-Job Training Pathway with a STEM emphasis prepares Trainees to support the learning and development of young children through hands-on classroom experience and academic instruction. Participants gain practical skills while working in licensed childcare development center under the guidance of an experienced mentor.

This pathway combines foundational early childhood education practices with engaging Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) learning strategies designed for young learners. Trainees learn how to create developmentally appropriate STEM activities that encourage curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking in children from birth through age eight.
