Investing in the Future of Affordable Housing

At Housing Hope, we know that solving our region's housing crisis takes more than bricks and mortar, it takes people. That's why we're incredibly grateful for organizations that invest in developing the next generation of affordable housing leaders.

Our Chief Strategic Officer, Rachel Downes, is currently participating in the LISC Puget Sound Housing Accelerator Fellowship, an 18-month program made possible through the generous support of Amazon. The Fellowship invests in emerging affordable housing developers through intensive training, individualized coaching, peer learning, and access to industry networks and resources. The 2026 cohort brings together affordable housing professionals from across the Puget Sound region who are collectively advancing over 2,000 affordable homes. By strengthening the capacity of mission-driven housing developers, the Fellowship helps accelerate the creation of much-needed affordable housing throughout our region.

While the Fellowship is an investment in Rachel's professional growth, it's also an investment in Housing Hope and the families we serve. Every new skill, relationship, and lesson learned will strengthen our ability to bring more affordable homes to Snohomish County for years to come.

"One of the things I've appreciated most about the Fellowship is the opportunity to learn alongside such an inspiring group of housing professionals," Rachel shared. "The challenges we're working to solve are complex, and having the chance to learn from experts and peers across the region has been incredibly valuable. I'm excited to bring these ideas, tools, and relationships back to Housing Hope as we continue to grow our impact."
