On October 27th, Housing Hope broke ground on our next affordable housing community, Bayside Landing. A first for Housing Hope, Bayside Landing will be a new model for our agency that is specifically designed for older adults age 55 and up. Much like how Scriber Place, our affordable housing community being developed in Lynnwood is being purpose built to support children and families in the Edmonds School District, when completed Bayside Landing will establish a new dedicated layer of housing support for older adults to Everett.

Joining us for the momentous occasion were dozens of like-minded teams and individuals that have worked tirelessly for years to bring the vision for this new community to life. Thank you to AHBL, Beacon Development Group, Corporation for Supportive Housing, Enterprise Community Partners, Everett United Church of Christ, Geotech Consultants, Kirtley Cole, SMR Architects, Transpogroup, the Washington State Department of Commerce, and the Washington State Housing Finance Commission for your hard work and dedication to bringing this new development to Everett.

Many state and local politicians were also in attendance or represented at the groundbreaking ceremony. Thank you to Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin, Snohomish County Councilmember Megan Dunn, Snohomish County Councilmember and State Representative Strom Peterson, State Senator Marko Liias, State Representative Mary Fosse, State Representative Julio Cortes, Everett City Councilmember Paula Rhyne, Everett City Councilmember Erica Weir, Jeremy Harrison-Smith (Representing Governor Ferguson), Zach Heffron (Representing Senator Cantwell), Lilia Yatskowitz (Representing Senator Murray), Jessica Corbman (Representing Congressman Larsen), and Liam Jordan (Representing Congresswoman DelBene) for your continued support of our mission and championing for policies that support affordable housing projects across the state and Snohomish County.

All of us at Housing Hope are so excited to begin this next chapter in affordable housing for our agency. Bayside Landing is another example of how we are tackling the housing and affordability crisis through a bold, dynamic approach to bring new models with new funding structures to the region. Our approach might be new, but our mission is still the same; to promote and provide affordable housing and tailored services to reduce homelessness and poverty for residents of Snohomish County and Camano Island.
