Deanna heard about the HopeWorks Training Program from another trainee who completed the program. She talked to Tina, the Manager at Renew Home and Decor, and decided to try it out.

“I decided to participate in the program because of the people and the instructors. They gave me the confidence to try. Everyone took time and helped me understand what I would learn, despite my disability. They gave me a chance, when I doubted people would. Everyone considered me and encouraged me to learn and to stick with it until I understood what I was doing. I’m grateful I completed it. [Since this achievement], I’m more confident, and I trust in myself. I’ve learned that it’s okay to ask if I don’t understand something. I’m absolutely grateful for everything. I will continue to be of service and grow, learning even more.”

Fellow trainees in the program also noted the growth that they’ve seen in Deanna over the 12-week program. They smiled as they reflected on how much she has come out of her shell and how much her confidence and self-worth has increased. When asked what advice she would give to others considering the training program, Deanna replied, “Don’t be afraid and believe in yourself because nothing is impossible.”
