Hello! This is Kathryn Opina and welcome to Kat's Corner for June 2026. I have a ton of very exciting updates to share with you this month as things heat up this summer season.
Stone Soup 2026
Stone Soup 2026 was—dare I say—the best one yet. With just under 600 attendees, we raised $470,000 in support of our mission.
The powerful stories of homeless students in the Edmonds School District were deeply moving, reminding us why projects like Scriber Place are so critical to our community. We extend our sincere thanks to the talented student performers from Edmonds-Woodway High School and to Francisco Gonzalez Robles for their incredible presentation. The evening was a meaningful celebration of Housing Hope’s work, and we are profoundly grateful for the continued support of our partners, donors, and staff.

211 is no longer in service
VOAWW Connect is now the personalized housing resource navigation for Snohomish and Skagit Counties. Specialists offer free, one-on-one assistance to help community members access essential resources and successfully navigate housing, food, transportation, and behavioral health systems.
Call 360-VOA-HELP or toll-free 1-800-223-8145 for housing assistance. This number is open Monday- Friday, 8:30 am through 4:30 pm. People can also email resourceconnect@voaww.org for help. Thank you for making this update when directing people for help
Summer Dinner
We are so excited to present our second annual Summer Dinner fundraiser on July 16, 2026. As we did last year, we will transform the Kindred Kitchen Café into an elegant dining space to celebrate this year’s focus on Tomorrow’s Hope. Thanks to the generosity of Johnny Carswell, owner of 16Eleven, we are featuring guest Chef Mike Lim. He will work with the trainees to prepare the meal throughout June. The meal w ill feature a three-course dinner with drinks, including a signature cocktail.
You will hear directly from trainees presenting each course, as well as from Tomorrow’s Hope staff and alumni, with beautiful flowers provided by Kyla Baird. You will not want to miss this opportunity to support Tomorrow’s Hope and see firsthand the incredible work our trainees are preparing. Get your tickets before they sell out! The space is limited to 60 attendees. Tickets can be purchased by clicking on the button below.

Enjoy the beautiful Pacific Northwest summer, and I hope to see many of you at the Summer Dinner!
