Welcome to the digital version of Housing Hope's quarterly newsletter, your place to find updates and insights from across our agency. In this edition, you will find updates on how we use data to empower our operations and some of the people making the magic happen, upcoming 2026 events, recent successes, and how thankful we are to all of our volunteers.
Our Year-End-Appeal is currently live, with the hopes of raising vital funds for operations, support services, and programming for the over 1500 residents we serve daily. 🏠 Please consider making a donation today at www.housinghope.org/year-end.

The best of intents can be misled by an incomplete understanding of your surroundings, and that could not be any more true than it is for us as a nonprofit working to address homelessness in Snohomish County. Without reliable data, it is impossible make informed decisions that address the actual needs of our residents, trainees, and people we serve on a daily basis. From providing basic services to applying for national funding grants, Housing Hope relies on this vital information coming from so many different sources to best steer the ship and make the correct calls for everyone relying on our agency.
It might seem simple enough, but when operating at the scale Housing Hope does, the amount of data we have coming in can be overwhelming. That’s where our amazing team of data support service experts come in to help process and make sense of the mountain of information we receive. This analysis in turn, helps everyone from leadership to our Family Support Coaches be informed about the state of our agency, larger trends in nonprofits, and how best to navigate an ever changing landscape with our federal government.

We wanted to highlight one of our key players in our quest for reliable data, Dane Wagenhoffer. As part of our Data Support Services team at Housing Hope, Dane helps cut through the fog, acting like a lighthouse to ensure our agency does not make any misstep. We caught up with him recently to learn more about why he loves doing this job, and why he has found this position so inspiring and impactful.
“When you find a job where you feel pride in what you do and it helps make your community be a better place to live, it is a dream come true.” Meet Dane Wagenhoffer, Data Support Services at Housing Hope. “I collect a lot of different data that supports the work of our mission. One of the most important jobs I perform is the eligibility review on the referrals that come to us for housing. After I review the applicants’ responses and determine eligibility, I introduce them to the Family Support Coach that oversees the housing community they are about to enter. The interactions with the potential tenant are some of the most meaningful I have, as I get to learn a little about them and what their story is. I enter all the intake data into a software called Apricot. Many internal staff and external agencies across our partnership count on the accuracy of this data.“
“I also run the database for Tomorrow’s Hope, track the quarterly Housing Stability reports, chart the 911 data for our housing communities, and provide the Grants Team the data they need for both reporting to funders and applying for new monies. “I did not anticipate that this work would have such a significant impact on me. I find it inspiring, especially when tenants ask for me as they work their way through our internal processes. The motivational interviewing that I practice can help individuals I interview feel empowered and understood.”
Lauren Pease, the Housing Hope Grant Administrator, relies on authentic and accurate data as part of writing a successful, competitive grant application. “We appreciate the quality work that Dane produces and rely on him tremendously. We have benefited from our teamwork on many projects and look forward to accomplishing even more.”
Thank you, Dane, for all the magnificent work you do and for how you do it! We are all better because of it.

We are thrilled to share the success of our Voices of Hope annual fundraiser, a powerful concert event that brought together our community in song and solidarity to support affordable housing in Stanwood. Thanks to the generosity of our participants, including the talented choirs, our dedicated Stanwood Ambassadors, our Artistic Director Erik Ronning, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Linda Lervick, John and Carol Lervick, and all our donors, we raised over $13,000 to help ensure that more Stanwood residents have access to safe, decent, and affordable homes.
We deeply appreciate everyone who volunteered their time and energy, donated bakery goods and auction items, sang their hearts out, and gave so generously. Your support truly makes a difference, and echoes hope for families in need.

Earlier this year we brought on a new Volunteer Coordinator, Caitlin Rose, to overhaul and reinvigorate our volunteer program. Wasting no time getting going, she quickly began making huge waves with not only developing volunteer opportunities across our organization, but also fostering new relationships and helping grow the program to heights never seen before for Housing Hope. Her experience with Habitat For Humanity and other amazing social impact groups are on clear display day after day and we are so thankful for her outstanding contributions to Housing Hope in such a small time.
Throughout 2025, we have seen over 200 volunteers contribute 8,198 hours of their time to making an impact across Snohomish County. From building houses in Sultan, to helping with our social enterprises, each and every volunteer has directly helped some of our most at risk and in need neighbors in our region. To some, a singular volunteer might not feel like they are making a large impact, but together we can move mountains.

Seeing is believing, and this year we saw over 8,000 hours of volunteer time, or in money speak an estimated impact of $274,549 in labor across dozens of volunteer opportunities. 2026 is shaping up to be our biggest year yet for well, almost everything we do! If you want to get involved by donating your time through volunteering, please visit our website at housinghope.org/volunteer to get connected today.
