National Volunteer Week is an opportunity for us to reflect on the incredible contributions made by volunteers who dedicate their time, talents, and hearts to causes larger than themselves. At Housing Hope, we are privileged to have a community of passionate volunteers who help us serve families in need. One of those volunteers is Carol, a dedicated Madrona Ambassador, whose journey of service and personal growth embodies the spirit of volunteerism.
Choosing to Volunteer: A Lifetime of Experience
Carol believes that volunteering is a product of a lifetime, shaped by the experiences we accumulate throughout the stages of life. For Carol, giving back has been a long-standing commitment, grounded in her deep connection to others. “When you give freely, you uncover the goodness in everyone,” she shares. Through volunteering, we not only help others, but we also grow, learn, and connect in ways that enrich our own lives.
Volunteering for Housing Hope: A Heartfelt Commitment
Carol’s commitment to Housing Hope comes from her desire to help those who may not have the privileges many of us take for granted. “For those who don’t have a safety net, asking for help takes courage,” Carol explains. At Housing Hope, she sees firsthand the importance of providing a safe space where people can seek help with dignity, and she takes great pride in being part of an organization that transforms lives.
The Value of Volunteers: Recognizing Every Gift
Carol also stresses the importance of valuing volunteers, who, while often working behind the scenes, play a crucial role in an organization’s success. “Volunteers give a gift,” Carol says, reminding us to treat their contributions with the respect and appreciation they deserve. Volunteers’ selfless service makes all the difference, and they deserve to be acknowledged for the important role they play.
As we celebrate National Volunteer Week, we are grateful for volunteers like Carol, whose dedication continues to inspire and impact those around her.
