Stone Soup 2026 is One Month Away

It’s hard to believe but Stone Soup is only one month away! In just a few weeks we will all be gathered under one roof to champion the amazing work being done across Snohomish County in our shared mission of addressing the affordability and housing crisis facing so many of our neighbors.
Did you know that there are around 4,000 homeless students just in Snohomish County? This startling truth highlights how far reaching this crisis truly is. If you have kids in school, or know families with young ones in the K-12 system, chances are they know a classmate that is currently homeless, even if it is not obvious. Having a consistent foundation of education, developing relationships, and gaining life skills while in school is vital to a child’s development and is a key tool in ensuring that child finds lasting stability on their journey through life. This all can be jeopardized by the instability that homelessness brings to a child’s daily life.
This is why Stone Soup 2026 will be focused on the impacts of being homeless while trying to attend school. Titled “Building For Tomorrow,” our event program will be focused around our latest housing project in development Scriber Place, a first of its kind for Washington State, that will serve families experiencing homelessness in the Edmonds School District. Our evening together will also feature a powerful special presentation led by ESD staff member Francisco Gonzales Robles (Homeless, Foster Care and Migrant Coordinator) and high school theater students from the district, as they shine a light on the reality students and families experiencing homelessness face on a daily basis.
