Through Sharing We Are All Richer: Stone Soup 2024

Updated: May 31

5/31/24 UPDATE

We are INCREDIBLY excited to announce that we are 95% of the way to our Stone Soup goal!

A huge thank you to everyone who has reached out and made this happen; we are blown away by your generosity and compassion. Because of you, we have raised $145,000 to close the gap.

That means we're only $35,000 away, and every additional dollar gets us closer to 100%.

This is the final push! With your help, we can fund support services, affordable housing, and childcare in Snohomish County. Imagine the impact we can make together!

Donate now and be part of this story of hope. Let’s cross the finish line together and create lasting change!

Over the past few days, the amount of love and support we have received from the larger PNW community has brought us a lot of hope in a less than ideal situation. 🩵

One week ago, we had only raised 64% of our Stone Soup goal. Because of our community's incredible support, we are now 76% of the way there!!

That's an additional $55,000 which will go directly to support services in Snohomish County.

We're still $125,000 away from our goal, but with your help we can close the gap. Will you join us, and help build a brighter future?

A message from Joan Penney, Sr Director of Resource Development, Marketing & Comms.

Stone Soup is our largest (unticketed) fundraiser and supports our programs all year long. We rely on it to fund services and provide resources for some of our most vulnerable neighbors. Unfortunately this year, due to the I-5 closure on May 16th, we lost most of our crowd. The impact of that on our funding has been heartbreaking to see, and we are over $180,000 away from our goal.

Now, more than ever, we need your support.

May 16th was our 35th annual Stone Soup, and although we were expecting a record-breaking number of attendees, the emergency closure of I-5 that same night greatly impacted people's ability to attend. We heard that some guests sat in traffic for over 4 hours, and still couldn’t get there for the event! In the end, only about 250 of the expected 650 guests arrived.

We're so sorry to all those who got caught in traffic, and we're incredibly grateful to everyone who tried, successfully or not, to attend. The crowd was smaller than anticipated, but the energy and support we felt were monumental.

Although we can't turn back the clock, you can still be a part of Stone Soup 2024. Please enjoy highlights from the evening, celebrate the stories of resilience, and learn about the future of Housing Hope & HopeWorks.

Highlights From Stone Soup 2024

Housing Hope & Premera

Premera came to us last year and offered to do a professional video about Housing Hope and HopeWorks so that community members, new to our organizations, could learn not only about what we do and who we serve but also how homelessness is considered a health crisis. At Stone Soup, we shared this video publicly for the first time.

Oh The Places We Will Go TOGETHER

Congratulations to all our staff, partners who provide resources, and funders and donors who support us and the people we serve together. As we look to the future, we have a few projects that we are working on and some NEW PLACES THAT WE’LL GO across the county with you alongside us.
