Building a Road to Resources: One Brick at a Time (Pathbuilders)

Updated: Oct 29

As our world keeps increasing in complexity, it’s easy to feel as though our ability as individuals to make an impact on problems facing our region keeps decreasing. Between the rising costs of goods, increased wealth inequality, and unprecedented global events, actually implementing solutions can be a gargantuan hill to overcome for even the largest of organizations, let alone a single person trying to be a force for change. The good news is that together, we are all stronger!

That’s the goal of Housing Hope’s Pathbuilders program; to bring together like minded individuals that feel called to join the mission of ending homelessness. By committing even a small monthly donation, you can have a significant, lasting impact on the homelessness crisis affecting so many in the Pacific Northwest.

We call our monthly donors “Pathbuilders” because they build a road to resources for some of our most vulnerable neighbors. Your monthly donation becomes a brick placed on the path toward a stable future for countless families and individuals experiencing homelessness. Together as Pathbuilders, we can keep hope alive for those in need in Snohomish County!

We know you might have some questions on why being a monthly donor is so impactful to nonprofits like us at Housing Hope, so we created this handy breakdown on the benefits of being a monthly donor and how the smallest of monthly donations can create major impacts!

1. Small Steps Add Up to Big, Lasting Change

One of the most powerful aspects of monthly donations is their consistency. A single donation can provide immediate relief or funding, but monthly donations create a steady stream of support. Nonprofits can plan for the future more effectively when they know they have regular resources coming in.

You don’t have to be a millionaire to make a difference. A modest monthly donation of $10, $20, or whatever you can afford quickly adds up over time. Plus, when combined with the one time or annual contributions of larger corporations/community partners, your donation becomes a consistent part of the larger picture that helps us provide services across Snohomish County.

2. Budget-Friendly for You

Making a big one-time donation can feel intimidating or financially stressful, but monthly giving makes philanthropy more manageable. By spreading your contribution throughout the year, you can fit it into your regular budget without straining your finances. It’s much easier to give $10 each month than a lump sum of $120 all at once, and the results are the same by the end of the year!

3. Feel Connected to the Cause

When you become a Pathbuilder, you get exclusive access to project updates, behind the scenes insights, participant experiences, and much more that we hope will make you feel even closer to the amazing work being done. Our Pathbuilders are a part of the team, and we want to make sure each and every one of you get to see where and how your money is being used to transform lives.

We hope to offer even more ways for you to feel involved, stay up to date, and show off your involvement in the months and years to come. Building deeper relationships between the people we serve, our staff, and our donors is at the heart of the Pathbuilders program, and we only hope to strengthen these bonds over time.

Feedback is important as this is a relationship that works both ways. If you have ideas on how we can better serve you, the Pathbuilder, or folks engaging with our programs, please do not hesitate to reach out and let us know!

4. Tax Benefits

In the United States, donations to charitable organizations are tax-deductible. By participating in a monthly donation program, you can keep track of your contributions and claim them at the end of the year. This allows you to support your favorite causes while receiving tax benefits—an added perk for doing good!

So what’s the next step? Become a Pathbuilder today!

By joining our monthly donation program, you can become part of a larger movement working toward real lasting change, one small step at a time. Your ongoing support will help Housing Hope maintain/build/create housing initiatives, programs, and services, all while being manageable for you!

Thank you for considering a monthly donation to Housing Hope. It’s only through the continued generosity from those like you over the past 37 years that we have been able to help thousands of individuals and families experiencing homelessness. With your help, we can’t wait to see what we can all achieve together over the next 100.

Together, we can keep hope alive in Snohomish County!
