Housing Hope clients are as diverse as the population in general. It is important to remember that many of us are only a few paychecks away from being homeless ourselves.
A few years ago, Carol and her two children, David (1 year) and Annie (2 years), were forced to quickly leave their home in Yakima due to domestic violence. Without money or other resources, they eventually ended up in a shelter in Everett . Her children were enrolled at Housing Hope’s Tomorrow's Hope Childcare Center through an agency subsidy.
At Tomorrow’s Hope, the children finally felt safe. Confident that her children were now safe and able to now concentrate on resolving her own issues, Carol began to seek counseling and education. Carol and her kids moved into transitional housing where they had access to a case manager and were connected to community resources. With this consistent level of support and guidance Carol was able to rise beyond her once-chaotic life. Carol completed her General Education Diploma and found regular employment. Without Housing Hope and the Tomorrow’s Hope Childcare Center, it would have been very difficult for her family to recover from homelessness.
