RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist the Construction Manager in the implementation of the Self Help Housing program; maintain familiarity with the Building Program Agreement.
2. Provide construction coordination for Building Groups as assigned:
   1. Train, supervise, and work with groups of families and their helpers in the construction of their homes using the mutual self help construction method.
      • Provide participants with "hands on" instruction in all phases of construction as needed, including correct tool use and safety.
      • Orient participants to construction-site security and inventory tracking (tools and materials) for shared responsibility.
      • Keep all aspect of construction in compliance with all applicable regulations, standards, and codes; participate in all building inspections carried out for assigned Building Group; monitor overall quality of construction.
   2. Organize work crews for the maximum efficiency of labor and materials.
      • Lead weekly production planning and safety meetings with Building Group; assign labor tasks daily.
      • Lay-out floor plan per blueprint, and perform other technical duties not assigned to participants of subcontractors, including prep work for participants and inspections.
      • Encourage participants to maintain cooperative effort; alert Construction Manager to potential intra-group conflict.
      • Review the time sheets for each family on a weekly basis assuring that families with delinquent hours are brought to the attention of the Construction Manager.
      • Maintain other records as required.
3. Other duties as assigned by management.
